H.R. No. 2239 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Edna Staudt retired as justice of the peace for Precinct 2 of Williamson County at the end of 2022, concluding a noteworthy tenure that spanned 28 years in that office; and WHEREAS, First elected in 1994, Judge Staudt demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication in her responsibilities, and she worked tirelessly to set young people on a productive path; in 1996, she established a youth mentoring program that has since involved hundreds of volunteers; she partnered with the Twin Lakes Family YMCA in the development of a teen court, which has allowed thousands of youngsters to learn about the court system and the important roles of attorneys, clerks, judges, and bailiffs; moreover, she served as a member of the Williamson County Bail Bond Board and the Central Texas Justices of the Peace and Constables Association, which named her Judge of the Year; the county also named a leadership award in her honor; and WHEREAS, Judge Staudt has given generously of her time and talents to myriad civic and charitable organizations, among them the National Day of Prayer, Safe & Drug Free School Committee, Twin Lakes YMCA Advisory Board, and Leadership Circle-Texas Alliance for Life; in addition, she has been very involved in Republican Party politics, serving in such capacities as precinct chair, election judge, senatorial district convention chair, and Republican State Convention delegate; she has been a volunteer and coordinator for campaigns at the local, state, and national level, and she is a cofounder of Leander Area Republican Women; named Cedar Park Citizen of the Year, she is the recipient of numerous accolades, including the Williamson County Republican Leaders Leadership Award, Glenn Shepard Servant Leadership Award, and Hill Country Community Ministries Heart of Hope Award; and WHEREAS, Before embarking on her long career in public service, Judge Staudt was a real estate mortgage broker and entrepreneur; she and her husband are the parents of six children, and their family further includes their 12 grandchildren; a member of the Williamson County Cowboy Church, Judge Staudt serves on the music ministry team; and WHEREAS, Edna Staudt has greatly benefited the citizens of Williamson County through her wide-ranging contributions, and her accomplishments will continue to resonate in the years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the Honorable Edna Staudt on her retirement as justice of the peace for Precinct 2 of Williamson County and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Judge Staudt as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
