44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Edna Staudt retired as justice of the peace for
66 Precinct 2 of Williamson County at the end of 2022, concluding a
77 noteworthy tenure that spanned 28 years in that office; and
88 WHEREAS, First elected in 1994, Judge Staudt demonstrated
99 exceptional skill and dedication in her responsibilities, and she
1010 worked tirelessly to set young people on a productive path; in 1996,
1111 she established a youth mentoring program that has since involved
1212 hundreds of volunteers; she partnered with the Twin Lakes Family
1313 YMCA in the development of a teen court, which has allowed thousands
1414 of youngsters to learn about the court system and the important
1515 roles of attorneys, clerks, judges, and bailiffs; moreover, she
1616 served as a member of the Williamson County Bail Bond Board and the
1717 Central Texas Justices of the Peace and Constables Association,
1818 which named her Judge of the Year; the county also named a
1919 leadership award in her honor; and
2020 WHEREAS, Judge Staudt has given generously of her time and
2121 talents to myriad civic and charitable organizations, among them
2222 the National Day of Prayer, Safe & Drug Free School Committee, Twin
2323 Lakes YMCA Advisory Board, and Leadership Circle-Texas Alliance for
2424 Life; in addition, she has been very involved in Republican Party
2525 politics, serving in such capacities as precinct chair, election
2626 judge, senatorial district convention chair, and Republican State
2727 Convention delegate; she has been a volunteer and coordinator for
2828 campaigns at the local, state, and national level, and she is a
2929 cofounder of Leander Area Republican Women; named Cedar Park
3030 Citizen of the Year, she is the recipient of numerous accolades,
3131 including the Williamson County Republican Leaders Leadership
3232 Award, Glenn Shepard Servant Leadership Award, and Hill Country
3333 Community Ministries Heart of Hope Award; and
3434 WHEREAS, Before embarking on her long career in public
3535 service, Judge Staudt was a real estate mortgage broker and
3636 entrepreneur; she and her husband are the parents of six children,
3737 and their family further includes their 12 grandchildren; a member
3838 of the Williamson County Cowboy Church, Judge Staudt serves on the
3939 music ministry team; and
4040 WHEREAS, Edna Staudt has greatly benefited the citizens of
4141 Williamson County through her wide-ranging contributions, and her
4242 accomplishments will continue to resonate in the years to come;
4343 now, therefore, be it
4444 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
4545 Legislature hereby congratulate the Honorable Edna Staudt on her
4646 retirement as justice of the peace for Precinct 2 of Williamson
4747 County and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
4848 happiness; and, be it further
4949 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
5050 prepared for Judge Staudt as an expression of high regard by the
5151 Texas House of Representatives.
