5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Edna Staudt retired as justice of the peace for |

6 | 6 | | Precinct 2 of Williamson County at the end of 2022, concluding a |
---|
7 | 7 | | noteworthy tenure that spanned 28 years in that office; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, First elected in 1994, Judge Staudt demonstrated |
---|
9 | 9 | | exceptional skill and dedication in her responsibilities, and she |
---|
10 | 10 | | worked tirelessly to set young people on a productive path; in 1996, |
---|
11 | 11 | | she established a youth mentoring program that has since involved |
---|
12 | 12 | | hundreds of volunteers; she partnered with the Twin Lakes Family |
---|
13 | 13 | | YMCA in the development of a teen court, which has allowed thousands |
---|
14 | 14 | | of youngsters to learn about the court system and the important |
---|
15 | 15 | | roles of attorneys, clerks, judges, and bailiffs; moreover, she |
---|
16 | 16 | | served as a member of the Williamson County Bail Bond Board and the |
---|
17 | 17 | | Central Texas Justices of the Peace and Constables Association, |
---|
18 | 18 | | which named her Judge of the Year; the county also named a |
---|
19 | 19 | | leadership award in her honor; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Judge Staudt has given generously of her time and |
---|
21 | 21 | | talents to myriad civic and charitable organizations, among them |
---|
22 | 22 | | the National Day of Prayer, Safe & Drug Free School Committee, Twin |
---|
23 | 23 | | Lakes YMCA Advisory Board, and Leadership Circle-Texas Alliance for |
---|
24 | 24 | | Life; in addition, she has been very involved in Republican Party |
---|
25 | 25 | | politics, serving in such capacities as precinct chair, election |
---|
26 | 26 | | judge, senatorial district convention chair, and Republican State |
---|
27 | 27 | | Convention delegate; she has been a volunteer and coordinator for |
---|
28 | 28 | | campaigns at the local, state, and national level, and she is a |
---|
29 | 29 | | cofounder of Leander Area Republican Women; named Cedar Park |
---|
30 | 30 | | Citizen of the Year, she is the recipient of numerous accolades, |
---|
31 | 31 | | including the Williamson County Republican Leaders Leadership |
---|
32 | 32 | | Award, Glenn Shepard Servant Leadership Award, and Hill Country |
---|
33 | 33 | | Community Ministries Heart of Hope Award; and |
---|
34 | 34 | | WHEREAS, Before embarking on her long career in public |
---|
35 | 35 | | service, Judge Staudt was a real estate mortgage broker and |
---|
36 | 36 | | entrepreneur; she and her husband are the parents of six children, |
---|
37 | 37 | | and their family further includes their 12 grandchildren; a member |
---|
38 | 38 | | of the Williamson County Cowboy Church, Judge Staudt serves on the |
---|
39 | 39 | | music ministry team; and |
---|
40 | 40 | | WHEREAS, Edna Staudt has greatly benefited the citizens of |
---|
41 | 41 | | Williamson County through her wide-ranging contributions, and her |
---|
42 | 42 | | accomplishments will continue to resonate in the years to come; |
---|
43 | 43 | | now, therefore, be it |
---|
44 | 44 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

45 | 45 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Honorable Edna Staudt on her |
---|
46 | 46 | | retirement as justice of the peace for Precinct 2 of Williamson |
---|
47 | 47 | | County and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
---|
