| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Kaye Boehning has been named the Houston District |

| 6 | 6 | | Rural Business Owner of the Year for 2023 by the Small Business |

| 7 | 7 | | Association Houston District Office; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each year, SBA and SCORE cohost National Small |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Business Week to recognize small businesses across the United |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | States for their contributions to the economy; during the event, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | nine district winners were honored in an awards celebration, and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Ms. Boehning was selected in recognition of her outstanding work as |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the director of Tomorrow's Promise in Huntsville; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Boehning became involved in education after |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | visiting a Montessori school where she was considering enrolling |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | her son, and she began volunteering at the school and then working |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | there as a full-time employee; after moving to Huntsville in 1996, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | she completed her training in Montessori teaching, and she opened |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | her own school, Tomorrow's Promise, on September 2, 1997; since |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | that time, the school has grown to encompass multiple locations, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and today, it operates as a nonprofit organization; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Through her able leadership and unwavering |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | dedication, Kaye Boehning has made a lasting, positive difference |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | in the lives of countless young Texans, and she may indeed reflect |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | with pride on her accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Kaye Boehning on being named the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 2023 Houston District Rural Business Owner of the Year by the Small |

| 29 | 29 | | Business Association Houston District Office and extend to her |

| 30 | 30 | | sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
