| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Michael Tobias of the Travis County Sheriff's Office |

| 6 | 6 | | was named the 2022 Officer of the Year by the Combined Law |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Enforcement Associations of Texas; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Tobias has enjoyed a rewarding career in law |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | enforcement that has spanned two decades, and he has served with |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | distinction as a senior corrections officer at the Travis County |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Sheriff's Office; among his many achievements, he received a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | certificate of appreciation for his service as class president |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | while completing basic training; he studied public and social |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | services in the Criminal Justice Program at Austin Community |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | College; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Tobias has further |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | distinguished himself in his role as the District 6 representative |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | on the Kyle City Council; first elected to that office in 2020, he |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | has worked tirelessly to address issues that impact local |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | residents, including infrastructure, housing, law enforcement, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | economic growth; he has also given generously of his time and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | talents to the local school district; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Through his skill and dedication to duty, Michael |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Tobias exemplifies the highest ideals of his profession, and he may |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | indeed reflect with pride on this well-deserved recognition; now, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Tobias on being named the |

| 29 | 29 | | 2022 Officer of the Year by the Combined Law Enforcement |

| 30 | 30 | | Associations of Texas and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
