| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, On December 25, Christians commemorate the arrival |

| 8 | 8 | | of a savior who promised redemption and eternal life to all |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | humankind; from his birth in Bethlehem to his crucifixion, Jesus |

| 10 | 10 | | Christ led a life that has inspired billions of followers over the |

| 11 | 11 | | course of two millennia; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The Yuletide season is a unique time of year, when |

| 13 | 13 | | loved ones from near and far gather together to enjoy cherished |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | traditions, exchange gifts, and express their gratitude for one |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | another; in keeping with the generosity and kindness the season |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | inspires, countless people devote themselves to helping the less |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | fortunate during the holidays, donating food, clothing, and toys or |

| 18 | 18 | | volunteering at shelters, senior centers, or other charitable |

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The pageantry of Christmas is a sight to behold, as |

| 22 | 22 | | and greenery and enlivened with displays that delight both young |

| 23 | 23 | | and old; moreover, across the nation, communities celebrate the joy |

| 24 | 24 | | of the season with numerous events, ranging from plays and concerts |

| 25 | 25 | | at churches and schools to festivals and parades; and |

| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Amidst all the bustle and festivities, the original |

| 27 | 27 | | meaning of Christmas still reveals itself, and as Texans observe |

| 28 | 28 | | this treasured holiday, they may take to heart the virtues that |

| 29 | 29 | | define the true spirit of the season and endeavor to carry them |
