R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The boys' 400-meter relay team from Bushland High
School achieved great distinction by winning the 3A silver medal at
the 2023 University Interscholastic League Track & Field State
Meet; and
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in
Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 11, team members
Ivan Soto, Tanner Adams, Tate Butcher, and Baylor King turned in a
notable performance, claiming second place with a time of 41.72
seconds; and
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
high school track and field athletes, these talented runners have
ably represented their school and community, and they will cherish
their memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to
come; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Bushland High School boys'
400-meter relay team on its silver-medal finish in the 3A event at
the 2023 UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to the athletes
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
