H.R. No. 2269
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Bryce Braden of Stratford High School achieved great
distinction by winning the gold medal in the boys' 2A discus throw
at the 2023 University Interscholastic League Track & Field State
Meet; and
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in
Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, Mr. Braden
turned in a notable performance, securing first place with a
distance of 168 feet, 10 inches, on his sixth and final throw; and
WHEREAS, This talented athlete has benefited from the support
and expert guidance of David Lantelme, who has served as the
throwing and high-jump coach at Stratford High for 13 years; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his track and field accomplishments,
Mr. Braden is a standout quarterback and linebacker for the
Stratford High football team; and
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
high school track and field athletes, Bryce Braden has ably
represented his school and community, and he will cherish his
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Bryce Braden on his gold-medal
finish in the boys' 2A discus throw at the 2023 UIL Track & Field
State Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Braden as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
