R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Julian Barton of Follett High School achieved great
distinction by winning the silver medal in the boys' 1A 3,200-meter
run at the 2023 University Interscholastic League Track & Field
State Meet; and
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in
Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 13, Mr. Barton
turned in a notable performance in the event, claiming a
second-place finish with a time of 10 minutes, 11.63 seconds; and
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
high school track and field athletes, Julian Barton has ably
represented his school and community, and he will cherish his
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Julian Barton on his silver-medal
performance in the boys' 1A 3,200-meter run at the 2023 UIL Track &
Field State Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Barton as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
