H.R. No. 2276
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Buddy Schroeder is retiring as president and CEO of
the United Heritage Credit Union in 2023, after 43 years of
dedicated service to the company; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schroeder first joined the United Heritage
Credit Union in 1980 and served as executive vice president before
becoming president and CEO in 1994; under his leadership, the
credit union transitioned from federal to state charters, secured
an administrative building, and grew its assets from $34 million to
more than $1.5 billion; he also played a vital role in the formation
of various wholly and jointly owned subsidiaries and collaborated
with state and federal regulators to represent the interests of
credit unions; and
WHEREAS, An engaged member of his professional community,
Mr. Schroeder sponsored the United Heritage Charity Foundation,
and he was a founding member of the Credit Union Coalition of Texas,
which he has also led as executive director; moreover, he has given
back to the wider community through his roles on the advisory board
of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas and the
board of directors for CASA of Travis County; in recognition of his
accomplishments, he received a Distinguished Service Award from the
Austin Chapter of Credit Unions; he holds a bachelor's degree in
business administration from The University of Texas at Austin; and
WHEREAS, Buddy Schroeder has made significant contributions
to advancing the mission of the United Heritage Credit Union, and he
may take well-deserved pride in his exceptional record of
achievement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Buddy Schroeder on retiring as
president and CEO of the United Heritage Credit Union and extend to
him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Schroeder as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
