5	5	WHEREAS, Texans and visitors from across the nation benefit
6	6	greatly from the dedicated efforts of the employees of the State
7	7	Preservation Board; and
8	8	WHEREAS, This vital state agency is responsible for the
9	9	preservation and maintenance of the historic buildings in the
10	10	Capitol Complex, and it approves all construction, repair, and
11	11	renovation work; it also operates the Bullock Texas State History
12	12	Museum, the Texas State Cemetery, the Capitol Visitors Center and
13	13	gift shops, and the Capitol Visitors Parking Garage; moreover, the
14	14	agency provides educational and curatorial services, offers guided
15	15	tours to the public, schedules and manages public events, and
16	16	maintains the Texas Governor's Mansion and its grounds; and
17	17	WHEREAS, Executive Director Rod Welsh oversees the State
18	18	Preservation Board with the able assistance of the executive staff,
19	19	Bob Cash, Erin Christensen, Chris Currens, Deborah Hujar, Ali
20	20	James, Leslie Pawelka, Cindy Provine, Eric Ramos, and Ann Vay, as
21	21	well as the skilled members of the finance department, Lindsey
22	22	Alvarado, Barbara Hanus, Laura Kelly, Lisa Stockton, Deanna Wall,
23	23	and Vashyra Waller; the agency's work further benefits from the
24	24	support of its administrative personnel, Robert Davis, Dana
25	25	Dennett, Jane Falkenberg, Patricia Hernandez-Ruiz, Elithia Rangel,

108	108	Star State; now, therefore, be it
109	109	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
110	110	Legislature hereby commend the staff of the State Preservation
111	111	Board for their exemplary service; and, be it further
112	112	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
113	113	prepared for the State Preservation Board as an expression of high
114	114	regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
