| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The closing days of the 88th Regular Session offer |

| 7 | 7 | | the opportunity to honor House parliamentarians Sharon Carter and |

| 8 | 8 | | Hugh L. Brady, assistant House parliamentarian Thomas G. Samuels, |

| 9 | 9 | | law clerk Kenna Titus, and parliamentary fellows Kirby Cotter and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Mara Sherry, whose dedication and expertise have proven vital to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the Texas House of Representatives; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Since being appointed to their posts in 2018, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Ms. Carter and Mr. Brady have ably guided the Speaker and members |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | through the daily proceedings of the legislative session and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | advised them on legal and parliamentary options in a wide range of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | matters; Mr. Samuels has assisted the parliamentarians in their |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | important work since his appointment in January 2023, and valuable |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | support has also been provided over the course of the 88th |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Legislature by Ms. Titus, Mr. Cotter, and Ms. Sherry; and |

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, These dedicated public servants have demonstrated |

| 21 | 21 | | the commitment to excellence and astute attention to detail that |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | are required by their duties, and they may indeed reflect with pride |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | on their fine work as another chapter of the legislature draws to a |

| 24 | 24 | | close; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby commend House parliamentarians Sharon Carter |
