| 6 | 6 | | anniversary on May 15, 2023, and this occasion offers a welcome |

| 7 | 7 | | opportunity to celebrate the venue's history and achievements; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Owned and operated by the City of San Antonio, the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Alamodome first opened its doors on May 15, 1993; in the decades |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | since, the stadium has presented a wide variety of sporting events, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | including international soccer matches, world-title boxing fights, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Major League Baseball games, and NCAA championships; moreover, the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Valero Alamo Bowl football game has taken place at the Alamodome for |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | all 30 years of its existence, and the stadium serves as home to The |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners football team; in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | addition to athletic competitions, the venue has hosted myriad |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | trade shows, conventions, and special events, as well as concerts |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | from world-famous musicians, such as Bad Bunny and Elton John; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The Alamodome has welcomed more than 33 million |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | visitors over the years, generating $2.7 billion in direct spending |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | with a nearly $4 billion fiscal impact on San Antonio; almost half |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | of all Alamodome attendees travel from outside the metropolitan |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | area, making the stadium an important part of San Antonio's |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | thriving tourism economy; the city's continuing efforts to appeal |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | to visitors are furthered by the work of the Texas Legislative |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Tourism Caucus, a bicameral, bipartisan caucus chaired by State |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Representative Barbara Gervin-Hawkins; and |

| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, For the past three decades, the Alamodome has played |

| 29 | 29 | | a vital role in the culture and economy of San Antonio and the Lone |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Star State, and it is a pleasure to join in honoring the stadium on |

| 31 | 31 | | the occasion of this notable milestone in its history; now, |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
