44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, U.S. Army Colonel (Ret.) William L. Moseley has
66 rendered exceptional service to the military community through his
77 role as director of the St. Philip's College Good Samaritan
88 Veterans Outreach and Transition Center in San Antonio; and
99 WHEREAS, The Good Samaritan Veterans Outreach and Transition
1010 Center opened in 2017 with Bill Moseley taking the helm as director;
1111 benefiting active duty military personnel, veterans, and their
1212 families, the facility provides a range of vital resources,
1313 including job training, financial and educational counseling,
1414 health and legal services, and referral services, all at no cost;
1515 since its inception, the center has served more than 44,000
1616 individuals in the greater San Antonio area; and
1717 WHEREAS, Among the center's other achievements, it has
1818 engaged with some 25,000 military personnel at over 900 veteran
1919 community events; it has also conducted more than 1,000 workshops
2020 and related initiatives as well as 5 state veterans fairs; in
2121 addition, the facility has expanded its classroom seating capacity
2222 and has upgraded classrooms and conference rooms with equipment
2323 necessary for hybrid workshops and other events; and
2424 WHEREAS, A native of San Antonio, Colonel Moseley worked as a
2525 firefighter before entering the U.S. Army; he was commissioned as a
2626 second lieutenant and went on to become a logistics officer,
2727 distinguishing himself in the roles of company, battalion, and
2828 brigade commander; prior to his retirement in 2013, he spent 25
2929 years in critical and key assignments around the world; and
3030 WHEREAS, Through his exemplary efforts, Bill Moseley is
3131 helping to ensure that those who have courageously served our
3232 nation are afforded the support and assistance they need, and it is
3333 indeed a privilege to honor him for his myriad contributions; now,
3434 therefore, be it
3535 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3636 Legislature hereby commend Colonel (Ret.) William L. Moseley for
3737 his adept leadership as director of the St. Philip's College Good
3838 Samaritan Veterans Outreach and Transition Center and extend to him
3939 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
4040 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4141 prepared for Colonel Moseley as an expression of high regard by the
4242 Texas House of Representatives.
