| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Helen Kent-Davis has distinguished herself through |

| 6 | 6 | | her 25 years of advocacy on women's and children's health issues in |

| 7 | 7 | | Texas; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Kent-Davis played an instrumental role in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | establishing the Children's Health Coverage Coalition, and over the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | course of two decades, the organization has become a leading voice |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | for children covered by Medicaid and the Children's Health |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Insurance Program; she also helped found the Texas Women's |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Healthcare Coalition, which has worked tirelessly to support |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | women's health in Texas; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, In her current role with the Texas Medical |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Association, Ms. Kent-Davis contributes her expertise in a wide |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | range of health care issues, including Medicaid, health care |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | coverage, maternal health, primary care, delivery system reform, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and rural health; she has most recently worked with the Texas Health & |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Human Services Commission to develop plans to reenroll nearly six |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | million Medicaid recipients following the end of the COVID-19 |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | public health emergency; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Helen Kent-Davis has made a meaningful difference in |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | the lives of countless Texans through her compassionate leadership, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | collaborative spirit, and commitment to serving those in need, and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her outstanding |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | record of accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby commend Helen Kent-Davis for her 25 years of |

| 30 | 30 | | advocacy on women's and children's health issues in Texas and extend |

| 31 | 31 | | to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
