55 WHEREAS, The family and friends of Amber Nicole Barrera
66 Rosales suffered an immeasurable loss with her passing on May 9,
77 2023, at the age of 33; and
88 WHEREAS, The daughter of Roland Barrera and Kimberly Adams,
99 Amber Rosales was born on August 3, 1989, and she grew up in Corpus
1010 Christi with the companionship of her siblings, Richard, Zachary,
1111 Pearl, and Paige; while in high school, she pursued her love of
1212 photography as a member of the yearbook staff, and she went on to
1313 graduate from Full Sail University with a bachelor's degree in
1414 film; and
1515 WHEREAS, Ms. Rosales enjoyed a rewarding career in the film
1616 industry, and she spent several years working behind the camera
1717 before moving to payroll; she was involved with everything from big
1818 budget movies to commercials, and some of her career highlights
1919 included her work on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and Paul
2020 McCartney's live performance at Grand Central Station; active in
2121 her professional community, she was a dedicated member of ICG:
2222 International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local 600); and
2323 WHEREAS, Ms. Rosales was a devoted mother to her two
2424 children, Ella Rae and Atlas James, and she delighted in taking them
2525 to parks and museums and exposing them to new experiences and
2626 cultures; she also enjoyed reading, traveling, playing board games,
2727 solving puzzles, spending time with her loved ones, and cooking,
2828 particularly traditional Mexican dishes; and
2929 WHEREAS, Although she is profoundly missed, Amber Rosales
3030 touched the lives of everyone around her in ways beyond measure, and
3131 she will forever hold a treasured place in their hearts; now,
3232 therefore, be it
3333 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3434 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Amber Nicole
3535 Barrera Rosales and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her
3636 family: to her children, Ella Rae Barrera Rosales and Atlas James
3737 Rosales; to her father and stepmother, Roland Barrera and Cindy
3838 Soza; to her mother, Kimberly Adams; to her paternal grandmother,
3939 Delia G. Barrera; to her maternal grandparents, Bob and Darlene
4040 Carlton; to her siblings, Richard Barrera, Zachary Barrera, Pearl
4141 Adams, and Paige Adams; and to all others who mourn her passing;
4242 and, be it further
4343 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4444 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4545 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Amber
4646 Rosales.
