| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Vanessa M. Urteaga of South Grand Prairie High |

| 6 | 6 | | School has been named the 2022-2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year in |

| 7 | 7 | | the Grand Prairie Independent School District; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, A science teacher at South Grand Prairie High School |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | with 13 years of experience in the classroom, Ms. Urteaga currently |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | teaches advanced placement chemistry and aquatic science to juniors |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and seniors as well as academic chemistry and advanced academics |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | chemistry to sophomores; she holds a bachelor's degree from Texas |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Wesleyan University and a master's degree from The Ohio State |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | University; in all her endeavors, she enjoys the love and support of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | her husband and their sons; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Vanessa Urteaga exemplifies the passion, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Vanessa M. Urteaga on her selection |

| 26 | 26 | | as the 2022-2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Grand Prairie |
