88R32829 AMB-D By: Kacal H.R. No. 2341 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Byrleen K. Terry is marking 49 years of service with the Marlin Chamber of Commerce in 2023, and this occasion provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on her outstanding record of achievement; and WHEREAS, Currently serving as treasurer, Mrs. Terry first joined the Marlin Chamber of Commerce in 1974, and over the course of her tenure, she has also held the office of president; she has been recognized by the chamber with a Business Professional of the Year award and the Parrish/Goddard Award, and she has twice received the President's Award; and WHEREAS, This esteemed woman has further benefited her community by giving generously of her time and talents to numerous other organizations, including the Marlin Independent School District Board of Managers, the Falls County Appraisal District, the Salvation Army of Marlin, and the Betts Foundation; in addition, she has served as the executive director of the City of Marlin Housing Authority since 2016; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Terry previously enjoyed a rewarding career in the banking industry that spanned nearly four decades, during which time she held leadership positions at Marlin National Bank, Guaranty Bank, and Citizens State Bank; from 2012 to 2016, she worked for Falls Community Hospital and Clinic in public relations and as a grant writer; in all her endeavors, she benefits from the love and support of her family, which includes her husband, Rocky, her children, Cacee and Barrett, and her four grandchildren, Reese, Myles, Lawson, and Tripp; and WHEREAS, Byrleen Terry has contributed to the prosperity and vitality of her community through her outstanding endeavors in behalf of the Marlin Chamber of Commerce, and in so doing, she has earned the respect and admiration of her fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby honor Byrleen K. Terry for her 49 years of service to the Marlin Chamber of Commerce and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Terry as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
