| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Byrleen K. Terry is marking 49 years of service with |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | the Marlin Chamber of Commerce in 2023, and this occasion provides a |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | fitting opportunity to reflect on her outstanding record of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | achievement; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Currently serving as treasurer, Mrs. Terry first |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | joined the Marlin Chamber of Commerce in 1974, and over the course |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | of her tenure, she has also held the office of president; she has |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | been recognized by the chamber with a Business Professional of the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Year award and the Parrish/Goddard Award, and she has twice |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | received the President's Award; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed woman has further benefited her |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | community by giving generously of her time and talents to numerous |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | other organizations, including the Marlin Independent School |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | District Board of Managers, the Falls County Appraisal District, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the Salvation Army of Marlin, and the Betts Foundation; in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | addition, she has served as the executive director of the City of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Marlin Housing Authority since 2016; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Terry previously enjoyed a rewarding career in |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the banking industry that spanned nearly four decades, during which |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | time she held leadership positions at Marlin National Bank, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Guaranty Bank, and Citizens State Bank; from 2012 to 2016, she |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | worked for Falls Community Hospital and Clinic in public relations |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and as a grant writer; in all her endeavors, she benefits from the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | love and support of her family, which includes her husband, Rocky, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | her children, Cacee and Barrett, and her four grandchildren, Reese, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Myles, Lawson, and Tripp; and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Byrleen Terry has contributed to the prosperity and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | vitality of her community through her outstanding endeavors in |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | behalf of the Marlin Chamber of Commerce, and in so doing, she has |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | earned the respect and admiration of her fellow citizens; now, |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | therefore, be it |

| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | Legislature hereby honor Byrleen K. Terry for her 49 years of |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | service to the Marlin Chamber of Commerce and extend to her sincere |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |

| 40 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
