| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and enthusiasm drew to a close |

| 6 | 6 | | with the passing of Carolina Lopez of Robstown on January 10, 2023, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | at the age of 63; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Clemente and Juanita Lopez, Carol |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Lopez was born in Mathis on November 27, 1959; she grew up in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Robstown with four siblings, Balerio, Onora, Adolfo, and Norma; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Lopez resided in Corpus Christi and Rosenberg, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | but she eventually returned to her hometown; an avid traveler, she |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | visited 45 states, including Alaska, as well as Canada and Mexico; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Fond of reading and the great outdoors, Ms. Lopez |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | shared her passion for nature with her nieces and nephews; she often |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | took them camping and horseback riding, and she also taught several |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of them to play tennis; with her vivacious personality, wonderful |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | sense of humor, and delight in pranks, she brightened the days of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | friends and family alike; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Although Carol Lopez will be deeply missed by those |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | she left behind, the passage of time will never diminish the love |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and happiness she brought into their lives, and they will forever |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | treasure their memories of time spent in her company; now, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Carolina Lopez and |

| 28 | 28 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
