5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, William H. Lindley is retiring as Highland Park town |

6 | 6 | | administrator on May 26, 2023, drawing to a close a distinguished |
---|
7 | 7 | | career in municipal government that has spanned more than four |
---|
8 | 8 | | decades; and |
---|
9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his 15 years as town |
---|
10 | 10 | | administrator, Bill Lindley has played an instrumental role in |
---|
11 | 11 | | assisting the town council in implementing a 10-year operating and |
---|
12 | 12 | | capital budget; he was integral to the renovation of the town's |
---|
13 | 13 | | parks and town hall, as well as improvements to the roads and |
---|
14 | 14 | | utility systems; during his tenure, he has ably guided Highland |
---|
15 | 15 | | Park through many difficult challenges, including the West Nile |
---|
16 | 16 | | virus outbreak, Winter Storm Uri, and the COVID-19 pandemic; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Lindley holds a bachelor's degree and has |
---|
18 | 18 | | completed coursework toward a master's degree in public |
---|
19 | 19 | | administration, and he received continuing education certification |
---|
20 | 20 | | in public management and mediation; prior to joining the Highland |
---|
21 | 21 | | Park staff, he held several senior leadership positions with local |
---|
22 | 22 | | governments in Gladewater, Rusk, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and |
---|
23 | 23 | | Colleyville, which was the recipient of the 2006 Municipal |
---|
24 | 24 | | Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal League while he was city |
---|
25 | 25 | | manager; he has been honored with the Jay Sansom Mentor Award from |
---|
26 | 26 | | the North Texas City Management Association and the Mentoring Award |
---|
27 | 27 | | in Memory of Gary Gwyn from the Texas City Management Association; |
---|

29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Through his skill and dedication, Bill Lindley has |

30 | 30 | | greatly benefited the Highland Park community, and he may reflect |

31 | 31 | | with pride on his many contributions as he begins the next exciting |

32 | 32 | | chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |
---|
33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

34 | 34 | | Legislature hereby congratulate William H. Lindley on his |
---|
35 | 35 | | retirement as Highland Park town administrator and extend to him |
---|
36 | 36 | | sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
