| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Catherine Marie Soberon is retiring from Atascocita |

| 6 | 6 | | High School in the Humble Independent School District on June 30, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2023, drawing to a close an outstanding career in education; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Soberon currently serves as a secondary |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Spanish teacher at Atascocita High School, and prior to joining the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | faculty seven years ago, she taught at Westbrook High School in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Beaumont ISD and at St. Anne Catholic School; over the course of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | her 15-year career, she has taught Spanish to more than 3,000 Texas |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | students; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Among her many honors, Mrs. Soberon was recognized |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | as the 2005 Teacher of the Year at St. Anne Catholic School and as |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | an Atascocita Super Staffer in 2018; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Soberon fell in love with Spanish when she fell |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | in love with her husband, Santos; the couple have shared a rewarding |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | marriage that has spanned 38 years, and their family includes three |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | children, DeeDee, Luis, and Nino, as well as five grandchildren; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Catherine Soberon has embodied the spirit and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | commitment that are the hallmarks of our best teachers, and she may |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | indeed take pride in a career well spent as she embarks on the next |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Catherine Marie Soberon on her |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | retirement from Atascocita High School and extend to her sincere |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
