| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Natalie Villafranca has distinguished herself in |

| 6 | 6 | | her responsibilities as a PowerHouse Texas Policy Fellow and aide |

| 7 | 7 | | in the office of State Representative Rafael Anchía during the 88th |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Villafranca has |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | tasks, and she has focused her efforts on such critical issues as |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | energy, the environment, and immigration; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Dallas, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Ms. Villafranca recently completed a master's degree in biology at |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Texas State University, and she plans on pursuing a doctorate in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | marine and environmental biology at the University of Southern |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | California; in the course of her academic career, she has |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | contributed to research at the undergraduate and graduate levels, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and she has authored several publications; she belongs to the Beta |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Beta Beta Biological Honor Society, the Society for Advancement of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science, and the Society |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | for Integrative and Comparative Biology; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Natalie Villafranca has performed her duties as a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
