| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt by |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | the family, friends, and colleagues of Andrew Wesley Jefferies of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Galveston, who passed away on February 7, 2023, at the age of 40; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Andy Jefferies was born in Houston on October 25, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1982, to Tina and Andrew Jefferies; he was raised with the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | companionship of two brothers, Bobby and Ian; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated to protecting the lives and property of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | his fellow citizens, Mr. Jefferies was a 16-year veteran of the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Galveston Fire Department; he shared a strong bond of camaraderie |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | with his colleagues and served on numerous committees of the local |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | chapter of the International Association of Fire Fighters, which he |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | further benefited as vice president of the executive board; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Jefferies was the proud father of four children, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Dade, Aidan, Carter, and Mackenzie; his circle of loved ones also |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | included his partner, Dahnia; he enjoyed taking things apart to see |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | how they worked, sharing the music he liked with others, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | entertaining everyone around him with his witty sense of humor; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Although his journey on this earth ended far too |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | soon, Andy Jefferies will forever be remembered with great |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | admiration and affection, and he leaves behind a record of public |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | service that will forever remain a source of pride to his loved |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | ones; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Andrew Wesley |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Jefferies and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | passing; and, be it further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 33 | 33 | | prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Andy |
