5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

6 | 6 | | passing of Mava Jo Turner of Anahuac on November 10, 2022, at the |
---|
7 | 7 | | age of 87; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Jay and Delna Lewis, the former Mava |
---|
9 | 9 | | Jo Lewis was born in Yellville, Arkansas, on September 12, 1935; she |
---|
10 | 10 | | moved with her family to Texas in 1941, initially living in Luling |
---|
11 | 11 | | and then settling in Anahuac in 1949; she attended Anahuac High |
---|
12 | 12 | | School, where she was involved in sports and other student |
---|
13 | 13 | | activities; and |
---|
14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, She married Vernon Dwight "Pee Wee" Turner, with |
---|
15 | 15 | | whom she shared a fulfilling union that spanned more than five |
---|
16 | 16 | | decades until his passing in 2007; she took great pride in her |
---|
17 | 17 | | children, Arthur, Jody, and the late Suzanne, and over the years, |
---|
18 | 18 | | she had the pleasure of welcoming into her family five |
---|
19 | 19 | | grandchildren, Cortney, Paige, Jason, Braden, and Lee, as well as |
---|
20 | 20 | | six great-grandchildren, Baylee, Brooke, Krissa, Peyson, Grayson, |
---|
21 | 21 | | and Wyatt; and |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Turner devoted herself to her home and to |
---|
23 | 23 | | raising her children, and she worked alongside her husband on the |
---|
24 | 24 | | family farm for many years; later in life, she enjoyed a rewarding |
---|
25 | 25 | | career with Sterling Funeral Homes; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, the passage of |
---|
27 | 27 | | time will never diminish the joy and love that Mava Jo Turner |
---|
28 | 28 | | brought into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it |
---|
29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
---|
30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mava Jo Turner and |
---|
31 | 31 | | extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family: to her son, |
---|
32 | 32 | | Arthur Jay Turner, and his wife, Marie; to her daughter, Jody Fyvie, |
---|
33 | 33 | | and her husband, Cort; to her grandchildren, Cortney Watson and her |
---|
34 | 34 | | husband, Chris, Paige Standley and her husband, Justin, Jason |

35 | 35 | | Turner, Braden Turner and his wife, Jessie, and Lee Gray; to her |

36 | 36 | | great-grandchildren, Baylee Watson, Brooke Watson, Krissa Gray, |
