 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Dorothy Louise Hatcher of Fort Worth is celebrating
 her 90th birthday on June 3, 2023, and this occasion provides a
 welcome opportunity for family and friends to express the love and
 affection they hold for her; and
 WHEREAS, The former Dorothy McCray was born in Fairfield in
 1933; she met the love of her life, Wesley "Sugar Pie" Hatcher, in
 elementary school, and following their graduation from Dogan High
 School, they exchanged wedding vows; the couple were blessed with
 four children and shared a rewarding marriage that spanned 63 years
 before Mr. Hatcher's passing in 2015; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Hatcher and her husband embarked on a number of
 entrepreneurial ventures in their community; they founded and
 operated Hatcher Enterprise, which included an auto repair shop
 specializing in antique cars and a full-service gas station;
 moreover, Mrs. Hatcher attended beauty school to become a
 hairstylist, and her husband supported her dreams by building her a
 beauty salon; there, she served her loyal clientele until the age of
 78; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Hatcher
 shared a profound faith, serving as members of the deacon and
 deaconess board at First Riverside Missionary Baptist Church in
 Fort Worth; they also shared a love of motorcycles, and they were
 members of the Fort Worth Hawks Motorcycle Club; and
 WHEREAS, Today, Mrs. Hatcher is the proud matriarch of a
 family that includes her four children, Billy Hatcher, Dorothy
 Jones and her husband, Sylvester, Brenda Hatcher-Bell, and Deborah
 Bell and her husband, David, as well as her grandchildren,
 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Dorothy Louise Hatcher is a source of tremendous
 inspiration, and in sharing the experience gained through nine
 decades of a life well lived, she bestows a precious gift of wisdom
 that benefits all who are fortunate enough to know her; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Dorothy Louise Hatcher on the
 joyous occasion of her 90th birthday and extend to her sincere best
 wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mrs. Hatcher as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
