5	5	WHEREAS, Dorothy Louise Hatcher of Fort Worth is celebrating
6	6	her 90th birthday on June 3, 2023, and this occasion provides a
7	7	welcome opportunity for family and friends to express the love and
8	8	affection they hold for her; and
9	9	WHEREAS, The former Dorothy McCray was born in Fairfield in
10	10	1933; she met the love of her life, Wesley "Sugar Pie" Hatcher, in
11	11	elementary school, and following their graduation from Dogan High
12	12	School, they exchanged wedding vows; the couple were blessed with
13	13	four children and shared a rewarding marriage that spanned 63 years
14	14	before Mr. Hatcher's passing in 2015; and
15	15	WHEREAS, Mrs. Hatcher and her husband embarked on a number of
16	16	entrepreneurial ventures in their community; they founded and
17	17	operated Hatcher Enterprise, which included an auto repair shop
18	18	specializing in antique cars and a full-service gas station;
19	19	moreover, Mrs. Hatcher attended beauty school to become a
20	20	hairstylist, and her husband supported her dreams by building her a
21	21	beauty salon; there, she served her loyal clientele until the age of
22	22	78; and
23	23	WHEREAS, Throughout their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Hatcher
24	24	shared a profound faith, serving as members of the deacon and
25	25	deaconess board at First Riverside Missionary Baptist Church in
26	26	Fort Worth; they also shared a love of motorcycles, and they were
27	27	members of the Fort Worth Hawks Motorcycle Club; and
28	28	WHEREAS, Today, Mrs. Hatcher is the proud matriarch of a
29	29	family that includes her four children, Billy Hatcher, Dorothy
30	30	Jones and her husband, Sylvester, Brenda Hatcher-Bell, and Deborah
31	31	Bell and her husband, David, as well as her grandchildren,
32	32	great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and
33	33	WHEREAS, Dorothy Louise Hatcher is a source of tremendous
34	34	inspiration, and in sharing the experience gained through nine
35	35	decades of a life well lived, she bestows a precious gift of wisdom
36	36	that benefits all who are fortunate enough to know her; now,
37	37	therefore, be it
38	38	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
39	39	Legislature hereby congratulate Dorothy Louise Hatcher on the
40	40	joyous occasion of her 90th birthday and extend to her sincere best
41	41	wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
42	42	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
43	43	prepared for Mrs. Hatcher as an expression of high regard by the
44	44	Texas House of Representatives.
