| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Willy Alberto Solis has distinguished himself |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | through a decade of dedicated service as a firefighter for several |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | departments in the Fort Bend County area; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Solis joined the Stafford Fire Department in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 2013, and the following year, he took on additional roles with the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Beasley and Richmond Fire Departments; he later became a member of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the Northeast Fort Bend County Fire Department, where he gained |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | experience working with emergency service districts; in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | April 2019, he was promoted to lieutenant of the Richmond Fire |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Department, and his leadership has greatly benefited the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | organization in the years since; moreover, he joined the Fulshear |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Simonton Fire Department in August 2022, and he has further |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | distinguished himself through his exemplary efforts with that |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | agency; along the way, he has served as an instructor with Fire |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Academy Online; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In addition to responding to emergencies, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Lieutenant Solis has played an instrumental role in providing |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | assistance to other departments, maintaining equipment, and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | training and mentoring colleagues; he has also used his bilingual |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | skills to better serve the Spanish-speaking community, and his |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | talents as a firehouse chef are widely appreciated; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Prior to becoming a firefighter, Lieutenant Solis |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | completed fire training at Wharton County Junior College in 2012 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and the emergency medical technician course in 2013; he later |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | attended a number of advanced training programs with the Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Commission on Fire Protection and the Texas A&M Engineering |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Extension Service; and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career as a first responder, Willy |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Solis has worked to ensure the safety and well-being of his fellow |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | citizens, and he may reflect with pride on his many achievements; |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | Legislature hereby commend Willy Alberto Solis for his 10 years of |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | service as a firefighter in the Fort Bend County area and extend to |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | him sincere best wishes for continued success in his important |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | work; and, be it further |
