| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The New Caney Independent School District is making |

| 6 | 6 | | a positive difference in the local community by providing area |

| 7 | 7 | | youth with a solid educational foundation on which to build; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Serving approximately 18,000 students across 20 |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | campuses, New Caney ISD seeks to foster a challenging and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | supportive learning environment where young people are equipped to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | excel in every aspect of their education; the district offers a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | variety of programs, among them advanced digital learning, fine |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | arts, dual language, and early college, as well as extensive |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | professional certification opportunities; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, New Caney ISD is ably guided by superintendent Matt |

| 16 | 16 | | Calvert, and it also benefits from the leadership of its board of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | trustees, which includes president Ty Trout, vice president Creg |

| 18 | 18 | | Mixon, secretary Elizabeth Harrell, assistant secretary Beth |

| 19 | 19 | | Prykryl, and members Wendy Sharp, Angela Tompkins, and Chad Turner; |

| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The administrators, teachers, staff, and school |

| 22 | 22 | | board of New Caney ISD have helped to provide many young Texans with |

| 23 | 23 | | the knowledge and skills they need to become productive members of |

| 24 | 24 | | society, and the district is indeed deserving of special |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | recognition for its significant contributions; now, therefore, be |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby honor the New Caney Independent School District |
