| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Montgomery Independent School District is |

| 6 | 6 | | making a positive difference in the local community by providing |

| 7 | 7 | | area youth with a solid educational foundation on which to build; |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Serving approximately 9,400 students, Montgomery |

| 10 | 10 | | ISD seeks to foster a challenging and supportive learning |

| 11 | 11 | | environment where young people are equipped to excel in every |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | aspect of their education; students at the district's 10 campuses |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | receive instruction tailored to meet a wide range of needs, and they |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | further benefit from a variety of extracurricular opportunities, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | including band, theater, and athletics; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Montgomery ISD is ably guided by superintendent |

| 17 | 17 | | Dr. Heath Morrison, and it also benefits from the leadership of its |

| 18 | 18 | | board of trustees, which includes president Laurie Turner, vice |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | president Nate Robb, secretary Linda Porten, and members Eddie |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Winn, Shawn Denison, Trey Kirby, and Matt Fuller; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The administrators, teachers, staff, and school |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | board of Montgomery ISD have helped to provide many young Texans |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | with the knowledge and skills they need to become productive |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | members of society, and the district is indeed deserving of special |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | recognition for its significant contributions; now, therefore, be |
|---|

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby honor the Montgomery Independent School |

| 30 | 30 | | associated with the district sincere best wishes for the future; |
