| 7 | 7 | | Section 9(a), be suspended in part as provided by House Rule 13, |

| 8 | 8 | | Section 9(f), to enable the conference committee appointed to |

| 9 | 9 | | resolve the differences on House Bill 357 (the requirements to |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | access the online tracker of an application for a ballot to be voted |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | by mail and to the date of runoff elections) to consider and take |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | action on the following matter: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | House Rule 13, Section 9(a)(4), is suspended to permit the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | committee to add text on a matter not included in either the house |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | or senate version of the bill by adding the following SECTIONS to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the bill: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | SECTION 1. Section 2.025, Election Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (e) to read as |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | follows: |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (a) Except as provided by Subsection (d) or as otherwise |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | provided by this code, a runoff election shall be held on a Saturday |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | designated by the secretary of state [not earlier than the 20th or |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | later than the 45th day after the date the final canvass of the main |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | election is completed]. |

| 25 | 25 | | (e) A date designated by the secretary of state under this |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | section for a runoff election: |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (1) must be: |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (A) not earlier than the 30th day after the date |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | of the main election; and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (B) not later than the 45th day after the date of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | the main election; and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | (2) may not: |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | (A) be a national or state holiday under Section |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 1.006(f); or |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | (B) have an early voting period that includes a |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | national or state holiday under Section 1.006(f). |

| 37 | 37 | | SECTION 3. Section 2.025(b), Election Code, is repealed. |
