| 7 | 7 | | merits special recognition for receiving this significant honor; |

|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |

| 10 | 10 | | intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | highest academic standards; in securing her place as one of the two |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | top-ranking students in her class, Ms. Montoya demonstrated a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of a notable high school career; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Montoya earned an associate of science degree |

| 17 | 17 | | from Skyline Early College High School; she distinguished herself |

| 18 | 18 | | as a member of the National Honor Society and Health Occupations |

| 19 | 19 | | Students of America, and she plans to pursue a degree in animal |

| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, During her years at Skyline High, Melanie Montoya |

| 22 | 22 | | has earned the respect and admiration of both her teachers and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | classmates, and her exceptional scholastic ability and commitment |

| 24 | 24 | | to excellence have opened the way to a bright and promising future |

| 25 | 25 | | for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Melanie Montoya on graduating as |
