44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Melanie Montoya has been named salutatorian of the
66 Class of 2023 at Skyline High School in Dallas, and she indeed
77 merits special recognition for receiving this significant honor;
88 and
99 WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only
1010 intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
1111 highest academic standards; in securing her place as one of the two
1212 top-ranking students in her class, Ms. Montoya demonstrated a
1313 thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her
1414 attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement
1515 of a notable high school career; and
1616 WHEREAS, Ms. Montoya earned an associate of science degree
1717 from Skyline Early College High School; she distinguished herself
1818 as a member of the National Honor Society and Health Occupations
1919 Students of America, and she plans to pursue a degree in animal
2020 science at Texas A&M University; and
2121 WHEREAS, During her years at Skyline High, Melanie Montoya
2222 has earned the respect and admiration of both her teachers and
2323 classmates, and her exceptional scholastic ability and commitment
2424 to excellence have opened the way to a bright and promising future
2525 for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it
2626 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2727 Legislature hereby congratulate Melanie Montoya on graduating as
2828 salutatorian of the Skyline High School Class of 2023 and extend to
2929 her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next
3030 exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further
3131 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3232 prepared for Ms. Montoya as an expression of high regard by the
3333 Texas House of Representatives.
