44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Mayte Vargas has been named salutatorian of the
66 Class of 2023 at W. W. Samuell High School in Dallas, and she indeed
77 merits special recognition for receiving this significant honor;
88 and
99 WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only
1010 intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
1111 highest academic standards; in securing her place as one of the two
1212 top-ranking students in her class, Ms. Vargas demonstrated a
1313 thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her
1414 attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement
1515 of a notable high school career; and
1616 WHEREAS, In addition to the pride inherent in being
1717 recognized for her hard work, Ms. Vargas has gained the opportunity
1818 to address her fellow seniors at commencement and to reflect on
1919 their shared history as well as their hopes and ambitions; and
2020 WHEREAS, During her years at W. W. Samuell High School, Mayte
2121 Vargas has earned the respect and admiration of both her teachers
2222 and classmates, and her exceptional scholastic ability and
2323 commitment to excellence have opened the way to a bright and
2424 promising future for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore,
2525 be it
2626 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2727 Legislature hereby congratulate Mayte Vargas on graduating as
2828 salutatorian of the W. W. Samuell High School Class of 2023 and
2929 extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she
3030 begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further
3131 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3232 prepared for Ms. Vargas as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3333 House of Representatives.
