5	5	WHEREAS, Clay Cortez has ably served his fellow Texans as
6	6	legislative director in the office of State Representative Josey
7	7	Garcia during the 88th Legislature; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Since joining the staff in January 2023, Mr. Cortez
9	9	has earned the appreciation of his colleagues with his
10	10	resourcefulness and initiative, and he has been instrumental in
11	11	fostering a positive work environment; he has been involved in the
12	12	preparation of more than 200 pieces of legislation, and his
13	13	contributions to carrying forth Representative Garcia's
14	14	legislative agenda have played an important role in addressing
15	15	issues facing citizens across the Lone Star State; and
16	16	WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed his
17	17	duties as legislative director with skill and dedication, and he is
18	18	indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now,
19	19	therefore, be it
20	20	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
21	21	Legislature hereby commend Clay Cortez for his service as
22	22	legislative director in the office of State Representative Josey
23	23	Garcia and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success
24	24	in all his endeavors; and, be it further
25	25	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
26	26	prepared for Mr. Cortez as an expression of high regard by the Texas
27	27	House of Representatives.
