R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Valerie Torrealba of Austin has distinguished
herself in her responsibilities as a policy analyst in the office of
State Representative John H. Bucy III during the 88th Legislative
Session; and
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Torrealba has provided
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of assignments; she has
analyzed legislation, met with advocates to research and develop
legislation, and provided vote recommendations; moreover, she
carried several bills over the course of the session, and she made
valuable contributions to H.B. 3765; and
WHEREAS, A recent honors graduate of The University of Texas
at Austin, Ms. Torrealba majored in international relations and
global studies, focusing on Latin America and international
security; she has worked with nonprofit organizations providing pro
bono legal services to Austin-area refugees, and she was regional
field director for the Williamson County Coordinated Campaign; in
all her endeavors, she is supported by the love and encouragement of
proud parents Susanna Guerrini and Jose Torrealba; and
WHEREAS, Valerie Torrealba has performed her duties as a
policy analyst with skill and dedication, and she is indeed
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Valerie Torrealba for her service as a
policy analyst in the office of State Representative John H.
Bucy III and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Torrealba as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
