| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Valerie Torrealba of Austin has distinguished |

| 6 | 6 | | herself in her responsibilities as a policy analyst in the office of |

| 7 | 7 | | State Representative John H. Bucy III during the 88th Legislative |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Session; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Torrealba has provided |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of assignments; she has |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | analyzed legislation, met with advocates to research and develop |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | legislation, and provided vote recommendations; moreover, she |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | carried several bills over the course of the session, and she made |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | valuable contributions to H.B. 3765; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A recent honors graduate of The University of Texas |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | at Austin, Ms. Torrealba majored in international relations and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | global studies, focusing on Latin America and international |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | security; she has worked with nonprofit organizations providing pro |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | bono legal services to Austin-area refugees, and she was regional |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | field director for the Williamson County Coordinated Campaign; in |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | all her endeavors, she is supported by the love and encouragement of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | proud parents Susanna Guerrini and Jose Torrealba; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Valerie Torrealba has performed her duties as a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | policy analyst with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby commend Valerie Torrealba for her service as a |
