R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Miguel Cabrera of Seale Junior High School has been
named the 2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Robstown
Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Cabrera currently serves as a band director at
Seale Junior High, where he has taught for seven years; under his
able leadership, the band program has produced an award-winning
concert band, marching band, indoor drumline, color guard, jazz
band, and mariachi band; in addition, his bands have won numerous
UIL Sweepstakes Awards; Mr. Cabrera also teaches band at Robstown
Early College High School; and
WHEREAS, Miguel Cabrera exemplifies the passion,
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all
in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Miguel Cabrera on his selection as
the 2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Robstown Independent
School District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success with his important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Cabrera as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
