| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Miguel Cabrera of Seale Junior High School has been |

| 6 | 6 | | named the 2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Robstown |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Independent School District; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Cabrera currently serves as a band director at |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Seale Junior High, where he has taught for seven years; under his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | able leadership, the band program has produced an award-winning |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | concert band, marching band, indoor drumline, color guard, jazz |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | band, and mariachi band; in addition, his bands have won numerous |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | UIL Sweepstakes Awards; Mr. Cabrera also teaches band at Robstown |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Early College High School; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Miguel Cabrera exemplifies the passion, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Miguel Cabrera on his selection as |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the 2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Robstown Independent |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | School District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |

| 27 | 27 | | success with his important work; and, be it further |
