| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, On December 10, 2022, Captain Luis Gonzalez was |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | honored by the City of Eagle Pass for his 25 years of dedicated |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | service to the Eagle Pass Fire Department; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed first responder began his career with |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the department on May 30, 1997; after earning promotion to |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | lieutenant in 2005, he went on to become captain in 2008; among his |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | many responsibilities, he is the emergency medical services course |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | coordinator for the Eagle Pass EMS Training Program; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, Captain Gonzalez has continued his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | professional development, earning certifications as a master |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | structure firefighter, BLS instructor, hazmat technician, and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | paramedic, among others; he has also completed courses in hazmat |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | emergency response, confined space rescue, explosive threats, and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | swift water rescue and has undergone Homeland Security training in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the response to radiological and nuclear weapons of mass |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | destruction; he holds a bachelor of science degree in fire and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | emergency management; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Captain Gonzalez has |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | exemplified the highest ideals of his profession and contributed |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | immeasurably to the safety and well-being of his fellow Texans, and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | it is a pleasure to join in recognizing him for his notable record |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | of service; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby commend Captain Luis Gonzalez for his 25 years |

| 29 | 29 | | of service to the Eagle Pass Fire Department and extend to him |

| 30 | 30 | | sincere best wishes for continued success with his important work; |
