| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Captain Manuel Román was honored for his 25 years of |

| 6 | 6 | | dedicated service to the Eagle Pass Fire Department on December 10, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2022; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Román was first hired by the department as a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | firefighter and emergency medical technician on June 1, 1996; |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | through the years, he has earned various certifications as an |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | advanced EMT, fire officer, fire instructor, intermediate |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | firefighter, structural fire field examiner, and hazmat |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | technician, and he has completed training that has included FEMA's |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | weapons of mass destruction preparedness course; he was promoted to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the rank of captain in 2021; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In addition to his regular work with the department, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Captain Román has been involved with EPFD's annual Halloween |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Haunted House Project and Fire Prevention Program for over 20 |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | years; he is also a proud member of the International Association of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Fire Fighters Local No. 4590; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Every day, citizens depend on the tireless efforts |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | of firefighters and emergency medical technicians, and Captain |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Manuel Román is to be commended for his courage, skill, and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | dedication to his profession; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby honor Captain Manuel Román for his 25 years of |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | service to the Eagle Pass Fire Department and extend to him sincere |

| 28 | 28 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
