| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Francisco M. Sanchez has been named the 2022-2023 |

| 6 | 6 | | Teacher of the Year at Eagle Pass High School; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Sanchez teaches audio/video technology and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | communications at Eagle Pass High School; first hired in 2009, he |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | previously served as a math teacher; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Sanchez is the director |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of Eagle Public Radio and a codirector of Cine De Mayo Film |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Festival; in addition, he is a member of Redeemer Episcopal Church, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the Eagle Pass Digital Arts Society board, and the Houston-Louis |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation advisory board, and he |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | has been involved with several honor societies; he holds bachelor's |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | degrees in mathematics and in history as well as an associate's |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | degree in secondary education; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Francisco Sanchez exemplifies the passion, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Francisco M. Sanchez on his |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | selection as the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year at Eagle Pass High |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | School and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success |
