| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort |

| 6 | 6 | | those saddened by the passing of Isabel "Chabelo" Rodríguez on |

| 7 | 7 | | February 13, 2023, at the age of 62; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Isabel Rodríguez was born near Guerrero, Coahuila, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Mexico, on August 26, 1960, the son of Juan and Maria Lilia |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Rodriguez; he grew up with the companionship of six siblings; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Passionate about baseball from a young age, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Mr. Rodríguez participated in the Babe Ruth Senior League, and he |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | was selected to the league All-Star roster when he was 18 years old; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | excelling at the position of catcher, he competed for numerous |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | teams, including ballclubs in Piedras Negras; he later took the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | field with the Aguilas de PN, Amigos, Rebeldes, and Rio Bravo |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | squads, and he most recently played for Auténticos; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Rodríguez worked for many years in the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | construction industry before starting his own business, Rodriguez |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Construction, in Eagle Pass; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Rodríguez enjoyed the love |

| 22 | 22 | | and support of his family; he took great pride in his six children, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Rocio, Luisa, Marta, Karina, Jessica, and Gerardo, and in his 13 |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, While the loss of Isabel Rodríguez brings great |

| 26 | 26 | | sadness to his loved ones, his legacy as an accomplished baseball |

| 27 | 27 | | player and a beloved father and grandfather will be cherished by his |

| 28 | 28 | | family for generations to come; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of |

| 31 | 31 | | Isabel "Chabelo" Rodríguez and extend heartfelt condolences to the |
