 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Writ Baese was named Citizen of the Year at the Round
 Rock Chamber's annual awards banquet held on February 15, 2023; and
 WHEREAS, Each year, the chamber recognizes an individual for
 his or her leadership and outstanding efforts in behalf of Round
 Rock and the surrounding community; and
 WHEREAS, The president of Hill Country Payroll, Mr. Baese has
 demonstrated a strong commitment to the Round Rock Chamber's
 mission; he currently serves as chair of Momentum, the chamber's
 public-private economic development partnership; in 2022, he
 played a key role in one of the most successful Momentum fundraising
 campaigns; he also serves on the Round Rock Transportation and
 Economic Development Corporation Board, and he has shared his time
 and expertise with a number of civic organizations; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Baese was previously a member of the Round Rock
 City Council, and he served as mayor pro tem; he helped lead a
 successful city bond election that supported the opening of a new
 public library and the expansion and improvement of municipal
 services and amenities; moreover, he has been involved in important
 regional initiatives; and
 WHEREAS, A steadfast champion of Round Rock, Writ Baese has
 worked tirelessly to promote economic growth and make the community
 an even better place in which to live and work; now, therefore, be
 it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Writ Baese on his selection as
 Citizen of the Year by the Round Rock Chamber and extend to him
 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Baese as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
