| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Writ Baese was named Citizen of the Year at the Round |

| 6 | 6 | | Rock Chamber's annual awards banquet held on February 15, 2023; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the chamber recognizes an individual for |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | his or her leadership and outstanding efforts in behalf of Round |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Rock and the surrounding community; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The president of Hill Country Payroll, Mr. Baese has |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | demonstrated a strong commitment to the Round Rock Chamber's |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | mission; he currently serves as chair of Momentum, the chamber's |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | public-private economic development partnership; in 2022, he |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | played a key role in one of the most successful Momentum fundraising |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | campaigns; he also serves on the Round Rock Transportation and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Economic Development Corporation Board, and he has shared his time |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and expertise with a number of civic organizations; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Baese was previously a member of the Round Rock |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | City Council, and he served as mayor pro tem; he helped lead a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | successful city bond election that supported the opening of a new |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | public library and the expansion and improvement of municipal |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | services and amenities; moreover, he has been involved in important |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | regional initiatives; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, A steadfast champion of Round Rock, Writ Baese has |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | worked tirelessly to promote economic growth and make the community |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | an even better place in which to live and work; now, therefore, be |
|---|

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Writ Baese on his selection as |

| 30 | 30 | | Citizen of the Year by the Round Rock Chamber and extend to him |
