| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Tom Ramsey received the 2022 Philanthropy Award from |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | the Central Texas Community Foundation at the Round Rock Chamber's |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | annual awards banquet held on February 15, 2023; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, In 2003, Mr. Ramsey launched Celebration of Love, a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | program focused on supporting families in need during the Christmas |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | season; he continued to expand its efforts, and from a project |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | serving 500 families during the holidays, it has grown into a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | year-round organization; the Reaching Out Center is a food pantry |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | that also provides clothing and job training; in addition, it has |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | furnished food, water, and other aid to victims of natural |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | disasters; its Soldiers of America initiative, established in 2007, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | offers both financial and emotional support to soldiers and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | military veterans; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Ramsey created the Tom Ramsey Foundation in 2019 |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | to fill gaps in community services by building bridges between |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | individuals, businesses, and civic organizations; Feed a Hero |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | delivered food to hospital workers and first responders during |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 2020; Mr. Ramsey's One Love, One World, One Community initiative |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | has sought to assist communities in South and Central America where |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | basic infrastructure is lacking; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Through his tireless efforts, Tom Ramsey has helped |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | to make a positive difference in Williamson County and far beyond, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and he is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; now, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Tom Ramsey on his receipt of the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 2022 Philanthropy Award from the Central Texas Community Foundation |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in his |

| 33 | 33 | | endeavors; and, be it further |
