5	5	WHEREAS, Nancy Rister has demonstrated an exemplary
6	6	commitment to public service throughout her 25-year tenure as
7	7	Williamson County Clerk; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Mrs. Rister was appointed to the office of county
9	9	clerk on June 5, 1998, and went on to win election with more than 80
10	10	percent of the vote the following November; over the past quarter of
11	11	a century, she has applied her accounting and management skills to
12	12	the many duties of the position, and she has been responsible for
13	13	overseeing the modernization of the clerk's office and the
14	14	digitization of the recordkeeping process; in addition to various
15	15	other accolades, she and her staff were recently honored with a 2021
16	16	5 Star Vital Registration Award by the Texas Department of State
17	17	Health Services' Vital Statistics Unit; and
18	18	WHEREAS, Engaged in her professional community, Mrs. Rister
19	19	has held membership in the County and District Clerks' Association
20	20	of Texas, the Property Records Industry Association, and the
21	21	National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials, and
22	22	Clerks; she also previously served on the Attorney General Open
23	23	Records Steering Committee and on the Judicial Data Management
24	24	Project of the Texas Judicial Council; and
25	25	WHEREAS, This dynamic public servant has sought civic
26	26	volunteer opportunities as well, and after moving to Georgetown in
27	27	1989, she joined Newcomers and Friends of Georgetown, the
28	28	Republican Women's Club, and Community Bible Study and became an
29	29	active member of Crestview Baptist Church; she currently belongs to
30	30	the Georgetown Lions and Kiwanis Clubs, and she previously served
31	31	on the Georgetown Main Street Advisory Board and the board of the
32	32	Georgetown Area United Way; and
33	33	WHEREAS, Mrs. Rister holds a bachelor of business
34	34	administration degree from The University of Texas Permian Basin
35	35	and certification as an investment officer; in all her endeavors,
36	36	she enjoys the support of a treasured family that includes her
37	37	husband, Milton Rister, and their two daughters and four
38	38	grandchildren; and
39	39	WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure as county clerk, Nancy
40	40	Rister has made significant contributions to the betterment of life
41	41	in Williamson County, and she may take justifiable pride in her
42	42	exemplary record of achievement; now, therefore, be it
43	43	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
44	44	Legislature hereby honor Nancy Rister on her 25 years of dedicated
45	45	service as Williamson County Clerk and extend to her sincere best
46	46	wishes for the future; and, be it further
47	47	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
48	48	prepared for Mrs. Rister as an expression of high regard by the
49	49	Texas House of Representatives.
