5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Honorable Chad Bridges has ably served the |

6 | 6 | | people of Fort Bend County for 20 years; and |
---|
7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Chad Bridges began his career with Fort Bend County |
---|
8 | 8 | | in 2003, when he joined the district attorney's office; in 2015, he |
---|
9 | 9 | | was appointed as judge of the 240th District Court by Governor Greg |
---|
10 | 10 | | Abbott, and after his term ended in 2018, he became the chief |
---|
11 | 11 | | prosecutor of the county's Family Violence Division; he was |
---|
12 | 12 | | recently elected as judge of the 458th District Court in Fort Bend |
---|
13 | 13 | | County, and he was sworn into office on January 1, 2023; and |
---|
14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Active in his professional community, Judge Bridges |
---|
15 | 15 | | served as the president and director of the county Crime Victim |
---|
16 | 16 | | Response Team (CVRT), and he also trains other judges for the Texas |
---|
17 | 17 | | Council on Family Violence; he has been a faculty advisor for the |
---|
18 | 18 | | Texas District and County Attorneys Association's Advanced Trial |
---|
19 | 19 | | Skills course, and in 2017, he was published in the Texas Center for |
---|
20 | 20 | | the Judiciary's In Chambers journal; he became board certified in |
---|
21 | 21 | | criminal law in 2020 and currently serves as an adjunct professor of |
---|
22 | 22 | | criminal justice at Houston Christian University; his honors |
---|
23 | 23 | | include the CVRT Carol Rees Award for outstanding service to crime |
---|
24 | 24 | | victims, and in January 2023, he received a 20-Year Service Award |
---|
25 | 25 | | from the Fort Bend County Commissioners Court in recognition of his |
---|
26 | 26 | | unwavering commitment to the county; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, The dedication and integrity demonstrated by Chad |
---|
28 | 28 | | Bridges have greatly benefited area residents and earned him the |
---|
29 | 29 | | respect and admiration of his peers, and he may take justifiable |
---|
30 | 30 | | pride in his exemplary record of achievement; now, therefore, be it |
---|
31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
---|
32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby honor Chad Bridges for his 20 years of service to |
---|
33 | 33 | | Fort Bend County and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
---|
34 | 34 | | success; and, be it further |
