| 5 | 5 | | BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Legislature of the State of Texas hereby create a Board of Managers |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | to present to the Texas Senate articles of impeachment preferred by |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the house against Warren Kenneth Paxton Jr.; and, be it further |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | RESOLVED, That the Board of Managers be composed of 12 |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | members of the house to be appointed by the speaker of the house and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | that the speaker shall also designate the chair and vice chair of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the board; and, be it further |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | RESOLVED, That for purposes of the house rules of procedure, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and except as otherwise provided by this resolution, the Board of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Managers shall be treated in the same manner as the Committee on |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Redistricting; the board is authorized to meet without regard to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the notice provisions in the house rules of procedure, to meet in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | executive session for any quasi-judicial purpose, including |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | preparing for the exhibition of articles of impeachment, without |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | regard to the house rules of procedure, to employ counsel and other |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | staff, and to utilize the services of other members of the house |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | when needed to assist in the discharge of the board's duties; and, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | be it further |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the members of the Board of Managers and any |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | other members of the house providing assistance to the board are |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | entitled to a per diem as provided by Section 665.006, Government |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Code, for a member of a house committee meeting for an impeachment |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | proceeding; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the chair of the Board of Managers may cause to |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | be issued and enforced any process necessary for the proper |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | dispatch of the board's work, that the board be granted the |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | investigatory powers of a general investigating committee under the |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | house rules of procedure and Chapter 301, Government Code, and that |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | the board is granted all powers granted to committees by the house |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | rules of procedure and Chapters 301 and 665, Government Code; and, |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | be it further |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the Board of Managers shall present the |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | articles of impeachment to the senate for purposes of Section |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 665.022, Government Code, by delivering to the senate a certified |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | copy of enrolled House Resolution 2377 preferring the articles of |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | impeachment. |
