5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the |

6 | 6 | | passing of Clifford Anne Bigby Cozart of Fort Worth on December 2, |
---|
7 | 7 | | 2022, at the age of 90; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A native of Fort Worth, Anne Cozart was born on |
---|
9 | 9 | | November 28, 1932, to Annie Farmer Bigby and Walter Clifford Bigby, |
---|
10 | 10 | | and she grew up with the companionship of two sisters, Mary Lynne |
---|
11 | 11 | | and Priscilla; after her graduation from North Side High School, |
---|
12 | 12 | | she attended North Texas State University and received a degree in |
---|
13 | 13 | | education; she would later earn a master's degree from Texas |
---|
14 | 14 | | Christian University; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Cozart began her teaching career at Denver |
---|
16 | 16 | | Avenue Elementary School, where she served for more than four |
---|
17 | 17 | | decades; throughout her tenure, she taught every elementary grade |
---|
18 | 18 | | level, as well as pre-K English as a Second Language classes; she |
---|
19 | 19 | | became the first female Castleberry ISD School Board member, a |
---|
20 | 20 | | position she held for 21 years, and she also served on the Texas |
---|
21 | 21 | | Association of School Boards; and |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, After retiring from education, Mrs. Cozart |
---|
23 | 23 | | continued to serve the community as the district director for State |
---|
24 | 24 | | Representative Charlie Geren; additionally, she was a member of the |
---|
25 | 25 | | Northwest Tarrant, Saginaw Area, and Texas Tri-County Chambers of |
---|
26 | 26 | | Commerce; moreover, she worked to ensure the placement of smoke |
---|
27 | 27 | | alarms in area homes, earning her recognition as the Civilian Fire |
---|
28 | 28 | | Fighter of the Year; and |
---|
29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Cozart enjoyed many hobbies in her leisure |
---|
30 | 30 | | time, including gardening and flying airplanes; she was a proud |
---|
31 | 31 | | member of the Ninety-Nines, and she served on the Fort Worth |
---|
32 | 32 | | Aviation Advisory Board; a woman of faith, she was a devoted |
---|
33 | 33 | | congregant of River Oaks Baptist Church; in all her endeavors, she |
---|
34 | 34 | | enjoyed the love and support of her husband, Gene, with whom she |
---|
35 | 35 | | shared 66 years of marriage before his passing in 2019; she took |
---|
36 | 36 | | great pride in her three daughters, Genie, Deanna, and Angie, and |
---|
37 | 37 | | over the years, she had the pleasure of seeing her family grow to |
---|
38 | 38 | | include five grandchildren, Heath, Mitzi, Chris, Brandon, and |
---|
39 | 39 | | Brade; and |
---|
40 | 40 | | WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, the passage of |
---|
41 | 41 | | time will never diminish the joy and love that Anne Cozart brought |
---|
42 | 42 | | into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it |
---|
43 | 43 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
---|
44 | 44 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Clifford Anne Bigby |
---|
45 | 45 | | Cozart and extend deepest condolences to her loved ones; and, be it |

46 | 46 | | further |

47 | 47 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
