No. 280 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Nurse-Family Partnership Day at the State Capitol is taking place on February 21, 2023; and WHEREAS, A nonprofit with network partners across the nation, Nurse-Family Partnership works to ensure the health and well-being of mothers and their children; the organization provides in-home nurse visits to low-income women who are experiencing their first pregnancy, and the visits continue until the child's second birthday; through the program, nurses offer valuable advice on child care and become a trusted resource for families in need; and WHEREAS, Since expanding its network in 1996, Nurse-Family Partnership has served more than 376,400 families in the United States; the organization has provided maternal and infant care in the Lone Star State for over 16 years, and more than 4,000 Texas families have benefited from the program; and WHEREAS, Nurse-Family Partnership has made a positive impact in the lives of innumerable Texans, and the nurses associated with the organization have earned the lasting admiration and appreciation of their fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby recognize February 21, 2023, as Nurse-Family Partnership Day at the State Capitol and extend to all those participating sincere best wishes for a memorable and enjoyable visit to Austin; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
