| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Eliza Hoffman of the Clear Creek Independent School |

| 7 | 7 | | champion honors in the School Art Program at the 2023 Houston |

| 8 | 8 | | Livestock Show and Rodeo; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Talented young artists from across the Lone Star |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | State were recognized during the rodeo's School Art Program Awards |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Ceremony on February 11 at the NRG Center; approximately 200,000 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | students representing 105 public school districts and 59 private |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | schools took part in the 2023 program, and nearly 4,000 pieces of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | artwork were submitted for preliminary judging; from those, 809 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | selections advanced to the next round, where 72 students were |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | selected to participate in the School Art Auction on March 12; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A junior at Clear Springs High School, Ms. Hoffman |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | received reserve grand champion designation for her artwork titled |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Morning Dove, a painting that took her some 250 hours to complete; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | she has enjoyed previous success in art competition at the Houston |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Livestock Show and Rodeo, garnering intermediate best of show |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | honors as a seventh grader and going on to represent Clear Creek ISD |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | in the event on other occasions; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Eliza Hoffman is a source of great pride to her |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | school and her community, and she is indeed deserving of special |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | recognition for this exceptional accomplishment; now, therefore, |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Eliza Hoffman on winning reserve |
